Avoiding Hunger and Homelessness in Bed-Stuy
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church and CAMBA are helping to fight homelessness and hunger

The economic recession of the last four years has affected hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers-- particularly in Bedford-Stuyvesant, which has one of the highest unemployment rates in the city.
The tragedy is not only the growing number of those who are jobless, but the fact that a large number of those residents are finding themselves facing the possibility of homelessness for the first time in their lives.

Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church's Community Outreach Ministry has started a soup kitchen open every second Saturday of each month, offering the community a warm meal in a warm setting for free.

CAMBA, a non-profit agency based in Central Brooklyn, provides services that connect people with opportunities to enhance their quality of life, including homelesness prevention assistance.
