Man Canes Pregnant Woman In The Neck In Bed-Stuy: Video
Video posted to Reddit Thursday shows a man on a Bed-Stuy corner hitting a woman the poster says is his pregnant wife.

BEDFORD-STUYVESANT, BROOKLYN — A man hit a pregnant woman in the neck with a cane on a Bed-Stuy corner this week, according to police and a Reddit user who shared video of the attack.
Earl Mason, 58, stands accused of swinging his cane at a 36-year-old woman, whom Reddit user BertJPDXBKLN said was his 5-month-pregnant wife, on the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Fulton Street about 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
"[The man] hit her straight in the throat with a very heavy and purposeful strike," BertJPDXBKLN wrote with his video post of the incident. "F--- that guy no matter what his issues are."

The video shows the attacker — who wears a blue shirt and leans on a long cane — standing outside the Golden Krust restaurant on the intersection's northeast corner.
A blonde woman in a black t-shirt and black pants walks by and he suddenly flicks up his cane and hits her, the video shows.

The woman dashes away with her hand to her throat, then bends over and turns to stare at the man as he slowly walks away.
The Reddit user said an unedited version of the film shows the man trying to hit two other men who walk by him.
Emergency responders took the woman to Kings County Hospital where she was treated for pain and swelling, said police.
Mason was arrested Tuesday and arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court Wednesday on charges of felony assault, harassment and menacing, court records show. The Bed-Stuy man was held on a $10,000 bail that was not posted.
Patch was not immediately able to reach Mason's attorney for comment.
The video posted to reddit spurred several Brooklynites to respond. One commenter had seen the man and another wrote, "I know that corner well. All sorts of kooks there."
The angry husband accused his wife's attacker of racism, noting both his wife and the two other men he targeted were white, and wrote, "I bet he’s angry about the changes [in the neighborhood] and took it out on my pregnant wife."
Mason was not charged with a hate crime and the Reddit user's assertion was contested by several commenters.
"You have no proof to support your claims of a hate crime, aside from your own feelings," wrote youranaconda.
"If you’re actually trying to pursue a case against this man, running your mouth off about the case in a public forum will not help you."
"I’m not on the jury," the husband replied. "F--- that guy."
