Man Charged With Murder In Bed-Stuy Shoot-Out: Cops
Christopher Mackins, who was hit in the neck during the shoot-out, had been taken into custody at the hospital, according to police.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A man taken into custody at the hospital after a shoot-out in Bed-Stuy last week has been charged with murder for the incident, according to police.
Christopher Mackins, 30, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm on Wednesday, nearly a week after he was found shot in the neck on Ditmars Street, police said.
Police had found Mackins after investigating the death of a 29-year-old man they found with multiple gunshot wounds on Lewis Avenue around 5 a.m. that morning, according to police. The 29-year-old, Russell Hazelton, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said at the time they believed the two men had shot at each other, according to amNY.
Mackins, also taken to the hospital, was taken into custody shortly after, according to police.

The shooting broke out a block from Hazelton's home on Vernon Avenue, records show. Mackins is from Brownsville.
