Man Fatally Shot In Front Of His Home On Rockaway Avenue: Cops

BROOKLYN, NY — A 31-year-old man was fatally shot in front of his home on the Bed-Stuy border early Sunday morning, according to police.

Tyrece Carroll was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso just after 3 a.m. in front of his Rockaway Avenue building, which is found near Broadway, according to police.

He was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

There were no arrests as of Monday morning.

The killing is one of two homicides on Sunday that police are investigating in the area.

A 37-year-old man, Luis Ocasio, was also found a little over a mile away around 6:30 a.m. that morning near Stanwix and Melrose streets, according to police.

Ocasio, whose address is listed as a Crown Heights homeless shelter, had multiple lacerations to his neck and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

There were no arrests in that case as of Monday morning, either.
