BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A man was fatally shot in the head near a Bed-Stuy bodega this week, according to the NYPD.

At about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, police got a 911 call of a shooting near the corner of Marcy and Lexington avenues in Bed-Stuy, the NYPD said.

Officers rushed to the Brooklyn block and found a 29-year-old man shot in the head outside a bodega at 367 Lexington Avenue, according to police. Patch couldn't get in touch with the bodega.

First responders took the man to a nearby hospital, but doctors couldn't save him, police said.

His identity wasn't released as of early Tuesday morning, as officials are still trying to alert his family, according to the NYPD.

Officers haven't arrested anyone connected to the shooting and are still investigating the incident, police said several hours after the shooting.

On Saturday about 11:30 p.m., police found a 53-year-old man fatally shot in the head near 387 Decatur Street, according to the NYPD.
