Man Killed Crossing The Street In Bed-Stuy Hit And Run: Cops
The 63-year-old man was hit by an SUV speeding down Atlantic Avenue around 3 a.m. Saturday, police said.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A 63-year-old was killed crossing the street in Bed-Stuy over the weekend, the latest death in a record year for traffic fatalities in the borough.
Dyral Brown had been crossing Atlantic Avenue near Nostrand Avenue just after 3 a.m. on Saturday when he was hit by an SUV speeding down Atlantic, according to police.
Emergency responders brought him to Interfaith Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The SUV, which police said is silver, drove away after the incident, according to police. There had been no arrests in the incident as of Monday morning.
Brown lived on Atlantic Avenue just a short walk from where he was hit, records show.

His death comes just a week after four people were killed in a single weekend on Brooklyn's streets.
The deaths add to 63 fatalities recorded in Brooklyn through the end of September. 2021 has been a record-breaking year for traffic deaths in New York City, particularly in Brooklyn.
This month, there has also been a motorcyclist killed in Red Hook, a fatal crash on the Belt Parkway, a 95-year-old who was killed walking in East Williamsburg and a 70-year-old who died after having a medical episode while driving, according to police reports.
