BED-STUY, NY — A man was shot in the leg by a stranger near Bed-Stuy over the weekend, and police still hadn't caught the attacker days later.

A 31-year-old got into a dispute with another man on Melrose Street near Broadway about 2:20 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The fight escalated, and the 31-year-old was shot in the leg, sending him to an area hospital in stable condition, authorities said.

The suspected shooter ran, and police were still searching for him Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
