Man Shoved Onto Subway Tracks In Attempted Brooklyn Robbery: Cops

BROOKLYN, NY — An attempted mugging at an L train station in Brooklyn ended with the would-be thief shoving his victim onto the subway tracks over the weekend, according to police.

The 52-year-old man was standing on the platform of the Bushwick Avenue-Aberdeen Street station at 4:15 a.m. on Saturday when a man came up and demanded his property, police said.

But when the man refused, a struggle ensued and the would-be thief shoved the man off the platform, police said. He then left the station.

The victim, who had a laceration on his head and a fractured leg, was helped out of the roadbed by emergency responders, according to police. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition.

Police have released photos of the attempted robbery suspect. There had been no arrests as of Tuesday morning.
