Mayor Eric Adams Hit With Violation For Bed-Stuy Property
Hizzoner got dinged for not properly registering his Bed-Stuy property, records show.

BED-STUY, NY — Eric Adams' Bed-Stuy pad has again landed the mayor in trouble for failing to properly register the property — a faux pas he's made many times before.
The violation, first reported by the New York Daily News, remained unresolved Thursday despite being issued Nov. 21, 2023, city housing records show.
The mayor is completing his registration, albeit with a delay, a City Hall spokesperson said. The Housing Preservation and Development department did not respond to Patch's request for comment.

"We encourage all eligible property owners to register their properties," a representative of the mayor's office said.
Adams' failure to file annual registration information on time could come with a fine between $250 and $500, according to the city's department of Housing Preservation and Development.

He's listed as the owner of the building on Lafayette Avenue between Stuyvesant and Lewis avenues, which has proven tricky for the mayor.
The mayor has already faced the same violation for failing to submit the registration to the department every year between 2009 and 2022, according to city records and the Daily News.
The famously rat-hating mayor has also faced multiple summonses related to rat activity at the Bed-Stuy property, some of which were dismissed.
Renting the Bed-Stuy property earned Adams over $19,000 in 2022 and over $24,000 the year before, according to the New York Daily News.
