Miguel Zuniga, 22, Shot Dead Wednesday in Kingsborough Houses

No arrests had been made as of Friday, and an investigation was ongoing, police said.

WEEKSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A 22-year-old Ocean Hill man was killed Wednesday just two blocks from his home, police said.

Miguel Zuniga, a resident of the Kingsborough Houses, was shot in the lobby of 708 Kinsborough 7 Walk just before 11 p.m. on June 29, according to the NYPD.

Responding officers found Zuniga with gunshot wounds to the head and back, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of Friday, no arrests had been made, and a police investigation into the shooting was ongoing.

Dozens of messages of love filled Zuniga's Facebook page as of Friday morning.

According to Facebook, Zuniga attended Harry Van Arsdale High School in Williamsburg.

The New York Daily News spoke with Taidy Ellington, who said she adopted Zuniga when he was two years old.

Ellington said that during this past Mother's Day, Zuniga gave her a teddy bear holding a pillow that read, "I love you, mom."

"I lost a beautiful son," she told the paper. "I'm gonna miss his love.”

The Kingsborough Houses are patrolled by the NYPD's 73rd Precinct. According to official police statistics, through June 26, major crimes in the 73rd had collectively decreased about 4 percent compared to the same time period last year.

A total of 17 shootings had claimed 18 victims through June 26 in the precinct, compared to 25 shootings and 27 victims in 2015.
