Police Rule Deadly Bed-Stuy Fire a Homicide
Traces of an "accelerant" were found inside the brownstone where Tyrone Corley and Stanley Wilkie died, police say.

Two residents of the brownstone at 103 Hancock Street in Bed-Stuy, between Nostrand and Bedford, were killed in a massive third-floor fire that broke out late Tuesday night — and police investigators have now ruled their death a homicide.
Tyrone Corley, 56, a beloved local deejay who lived on the third floor, died in the fire.

Stanley Wilkie, 47, who lived on the second floor, was declared dead around a day later due to smoke inhalation.
“The investigation into this fire determined that an accelerant was used inside the location, and determined the fire to be suspicious,” the NYPD said in a statement issued Thursday morning. “This incident has been deemed a Homicide, and will be carried as such.”

Two other adult women who live at 103 Hancock were hospitalized at Kings County Hospital for smoke inhalation, but are expected to live.
