Police Shot at 2 Men Who Attempted to Shoot Officers in Brownsville: Officials

One man was arrested and another is on the loose for attempting to shoot at officers near Osborn Street and Riverdale Avenue Saturday.

Police opened fire at two men who attempted to shoot officers in Brownsville Saturday night, police said.

Four plainclothes officers assigned to the Brooklyn North Gang Squad were patrolling in an unmarked car on Riverdale Avenue and Osborn Street when they observed a dispute between eight men, two of whom displayed guns, around 11:50 p.m. Saturday, said a police spokesman.

Three officers exited their vehicle, identified themselves and told the group not to move, police said, but one of the men said, “Shoot them. Shoot them,” and three officers shot at both suspects, who fled on foot.
