Suspects Arrested In Fatal Bed-Stuy Shootings Last Spring: Police

Two men were arrested for separate shootings that occurred just days apart earlier this year.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — Police said they have arrested and charged a man in connection to last May's fatal shooting outside a Bed-Stuy bodega as well as another shooting

Police said they arrested Daniel Hurdle, 30, charging him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to May's fatal shooting of Lateek Poindexter, 29, outside of a Lexington Ave. bodega.

NYPD officers also arrested Gabriel Hoyle, 39, in connection to a domestic incident on Sunday, officials told Patch.

Officers also charged him with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in last May's shooting, police said.

Police told Patch that Hoyle, a Bed-Stuy resident, has several prior arrests, including in 2021 for public lewdness and in 2018 for sexual abuse and conduct injurious to a child.

On Saturday, May 28, Alfred Bent, 53, was found with a gunshot wound to the head near 387 Decatur Street, police said.

Officials said that Bent was brought to Kings County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
