'Taste Of Brooklyn' Food Festivals Slated For Flatbush, Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS, BROOKLYN — A beloved annual food crawl is getting ready to set up shop in Crown Height and Flatbush this spring and summer.

Organizers of the "Taste of Brooklyn" food crawls have revealed their schedule for the 2022 season, which will include visits to Bed-Stuy, Flatbush, Gowanus, Park Slope and Crown Heights between the end of April and June.

The first to kick off will be the first-ever "Taste of Bed-Stuy," which will celebrate neighborhood icon Lloyd Porter, a business owner, actor and neighborhood institution who died in May 2020.

The "Taste of Flatbush" is next on the docket for May 14.

Ten eateries have already signed up to join the crawl, which lets neighbors lead their own walking tour for a taste at the neighborhood's restaurants and bars.

Crown Heights' food crawl will set up shop on June 11, though details have not yet been announced.

Proceeds from Taste of Brooklyn events go toward the participating restaurants and to the organization's school-run markets, gardens and cafes, which aim to help food deserts in the borough.
