The shooting broke out at a gathering that appeared to be an after party for a Sweet 16 party that was broken up earlier that night in East New York, according to police and reports. Police believe the shooting was possibly retaliation for a shooting at the Sweet 16 party, which injured a 17-year-old, according to CBS.
Long, who was from Virginia, was pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital after she was hit in the buttocks, police said.
