Want to Run the ING NYC Marathon for Bed-Stuy?

Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation has one more slot for its first ever team in the NYC marathon on November 6.

Why should you run with our team? 

You will be joining a committed, fun bunch of nine New Yorkers, while supporting a great organization. 

The nation’s first community development corporation, Restoration Corporation, partners with residents and business to improve the quality of life of Central Brooklyn by fostering economic self-sufficiency, enhancing family stability and growth, promoting the arts and culture and transforming the neighborhood into a safe, vibrant place to live, work and visit.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, Restoration is a dynamic institution that creates significant, sustainable and demonstrable impact in improving the well being of local residents and business.

·         Restoration Plaza- management, development and business attraction.

·         Mixed-Income Housing Development- rental and homeownership

·         Energy conservation- weatherization

·         Workforce and Asset building work readiness, vocational training, job placement, wrap around supports, and financial counseling

·         Education – early child education and literacy, college prep

·         Arts and Culture-performing arts, visual arts, dance and theater

·         Small business services-entrepreneur education and micro-load fund

To be considered for the slot, runners must:

·        currently be running between 15-20  miles weekly

·        Agree to raise $3,000 for Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration

·        Pay ING's registration fee

The team is supported by a running coach who is available for phone and in person consultations. The team meets by phone bi-weekly to share their progress and challenges.
