BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A blonde guy wearing a bike lock, yellow-tinted sunglasses and an iCracked T-shirt threw a cup of scalding-hot coffee onto a fellow customer at the Gourmet Deli bodega at Bedford and Dekalb avenues earlier this month, according to the NYPD.

Police released video of the April 19 attack late Sunday evening.

In the video, the suspect can be seen pouring himself a cup of hot coffee from a machine inside the bodega around 11 a.m. — then splashing it all over the man next to him, an unidentified 32-year-old who police said "suffered burns to his chest."

Later in the video, we see the suspect rubbing his arm. (Presumably because he likewise splashed some hot coffee onto himself during the attack.) A mess of fruits and snack foods litters the floor behind him.

The two customers had been arguing before the coffee incident, according to police.

"The dispute is unknown in origin," an NYPD spokesperson told Patch by email. "The groceries on the floor are unexplained."
