Woman, 70, Shot In Afternoon Bed-Stuy Shooting: Police

The 70-year-old was shot on Fulton Street, police said, just a block from where a McDonald's employee was killed this summer.

BED-STUY, BROOKLYN — A 70-year-old woman was shot in Bed-Stuy Monday when a fight between two men erupted in violence, police said.

The two men began to argue near the corner of Fulton Street and Tompkins Avenue about 2:10 p.m., police said

One man — wearing a yellow hat and what appears to be a coat with a thick, white shetland collar — went into his car, pulled out a gun and started shooting, police officials told Patch.

A bullets struck a 70-year-old woman — Marilyn Hunte according to the New York Post — who was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police also released video of the two individuals inside a store shortly before the shooting.

The second man wears a jacket with a blue hood and sleeves with a red and white body, video released by police shows.

City Council Member Chi Ossé said on Twitter that the shooting occurred just a block from his office.

"The people of this community are constantly traumatized by this unnecessary violence," Ossé wrote. "Our prayers are with this senior and her recovery."

The shooting occurred just a block away from where a McDonalds employee was gunned down this past summer.
