Accident on Route 22 at Crusher Road Causes Serious Injuries, Closes Road in Both Directions

Bedford police are conducting an accident investigation.

Update: 7:00 p.m.

The accident has been cleared and the road is open in all directions.

The two-car accident resulted in serious injuries to all four individuals involved.

Claudia Nortey, 25, a Bronx resident, was driving a Ford van when she failed to keep right, according to Bedford police. The van collided with a BMW sedan that was driven by Dana Nelson, 57, of Redding, CT.

Nelson suffered shoulder, head and neck injuries and was taken to the Westchester Medical Center for treatment. Nortey and her passengers, Sherry Washington, a 36-year-old female from Fishkill, and Adam Parpyka, a 24-year-old male from White Plains, were also taken to Westchester Medical Center for various injuries.  head lacerations, WMC White Plains 24 year old male. Nortey was issued a summons for failure to keep right.

A car accident on Old Post Road has resulted in serious injuries and the closure of Route 22 in both directions, between Rt. 172 and Greenwich Road, according to Bedford Police.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and to use alternate routes.

The accident occurred at around 3:30 p.m.

The extent of the injuries or the details of the crash are not known at this time.
