The Audience Is The Jury At 3rd Annual Katonah Classic Film Festival

Ever wanted to be a real film critic? Attendees will choose winners among short films from around the globe and close to home.

BEDFORD, NY — This week, Hudson Valley cinephiles with ticket stubs in their pockets will have the final say over which filmmakers will be adding a laurel wreath to their IMDB pages.

The third annual Katonah Classic Stage Film Festival on the Bedford Playhouse Lawn kicks off Saturday night at 8 p.m.

Katonah Classic Stage received short films from across the globe broken down by age groups. The judges made their official selections in each age category and will be screening them at the festival.

In this year's festival, there are seven films from New York, with four from Katonah and one from Mount Kisco.

The audience will vote on their favorite short films in each category and choose the overall favorite to win.

The films scheduled to be screened are:

  • Father Daughter Dance (Mount Kisco, NY)
  • Snoring (Iran)
  • Attack of the Fury Fish (Ukraine)
  • Family Photo (Spain)
  • Naji (Iran)
  • Donna (New York, NY)
  • Macbeth's Dream (UK)
  • Another Place (Katonah, NY)
  • Half More (Poland)
  • Below a Dark Wood (Ballston Lake, NY)
  • It's Summer Reading Time (Katonah, NY)
  • Everest (France)
  • Fume of Sighs (Katonah, NY)
  • Happily Ever After (Katonah, NY)

Be sure to bring blankets or chairs. You can bring your own refreshments or purchase concessions from the Playhouse. The event starts at 7:30 p.m., with films starting at 8:00 p.m.

The Bedford Playhouse is located at 633 Old Post Rd. in Bedford.
