Bedford Police Report: Drug Possession, Speeding Drivers and Graffiti on Guard Hill Road

In the past week, Bedford police have handled criminal mischief, credit card theft and a stolen bag of bakery rolls.

Waccabuc resident Ryan Forrester, 27, is scheduled to appear in Bedford Town Court after being charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration.

After receiving a hit from their license plate reader, Bedford police stopped Forrester on Mar. 28 around 9:30 a.m. on Cross River Road in Katonah. A computer check confirmed Forrester was driving with a suspended registration and he was brought back to police headquarters for processing. Police discovered Forrester had a ziploc bag of pills containing two Xanax, 31 Ritalin pills and 6 Adderall pills. He was released on $200 bail pending his April 21 court appearance.

Bedford police closed a credit card theft case that began last September when an an unknown man stole a wallet from the Pulse Dance Studio in Bedford Hills. At the time, the victim reported two stolen credit cards that were used to make $550 worth of purchases at Staples and CVS in Mt. Kisco. Bedford police detectives were able to use video surveillance and photographs to help identify the suspect as 55-year-old William James, an Enwood, NY, resident who was currently incarcerated in Rockland County. James was picked up in New City, NY, on Mar. 24, arraigned in Bedford and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.

License plate reader alert leads to driving arrest

A Katonah man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and fractured/discolored broken glass after his car was tagged by the Bedford police . Lawrence Brown, 63, was stopped in the Honey Ridge Mall shopping center on Old Post Road in Bedford on Mar. 24 and brought back to police headquarters for processing. He was released without bail pending an appearance in Bedford Town Court.

Bakery rolls that didn’t make it to store shelves

On Mar. 26, a larceny was reported at the A & P in Katonah at 132 Bedford Road. An unknown person removed a delivery of 60 bakery rolls after they were placed in front of the store by Cassone Bakery, according to police. The theft is being investigated.

Graffiti found on Guard Hill Road

On Mar. 25 at approximately 7 p.m., police officers found several signs near the intersection of Guard Hill Road and Succabone Road in Bedford. The officer documented each sign by taking photos and the graffiti case is being investigated.
