'Captivating Images' Photography Exhibit Goes To Whimsical Places
The show at the Katonah Library includes evocative pieces from the "Escaped Balloons" series that will set the imagination adrift.

KATONAH, NY — A Westchester photographer has taken the iconic images of our time to create something entirely original and the results are now on display locally.
Just as the iconic Battersea Power Station has become forever tied to the soaring pigs of pop art fame, visitors to photographer Margaret Fox's newest exhibit may never again see a parade float without wondering about the secret dreams and untold adventures of the childhood idols high above the cheering crowds.
The Katonah Village Library announced that photographer Margaret Fox will be exhibiting her collection of photographs which "have transported viewers to imaginary, whimsical worlds," at the library, from March 1 through March 30.

Fox first discovered her passion for photography as an undergrad at CUNY Queens College where she studied with Marcia Resnick. She then earned her MFA at the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, founded by renowned visual arts educator, Nathan Lyons. Fox's career as a fine art photographer expanded to business and education. "Her formative years as a fine art photographer was the core of her strength in her commercial work and she successfully applies her creative aesthetic and artistic vision to every assignment," according to the Margaret Fox Photography website.
The photographer's "Escaped Balloons" photo project follows balloons that have broken free from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. "I delight in the memories and stories they evoke for the viewers," Fox said.
Another of Fox's projects is named "Women on Wheels." The photographer said she "was attracted to the Suburbia Roller Derby players' because of their raucous and campy style," and that she "found their team names — 'Botoxic Avengers' and 'Indian Point Sirens' — as amusing as their satirical monikers, such as 'Ouching Tiger' and 'Miso Vicious.'"
The library says that Fox's "captivating images" will be available for purchase.
The Katonah Village Library is located at 26 Bedford Road, in Katonah. The show will be upstairs at the library.
