BEDFORD, NY — Caramoor's Fall Concert Season kicks off Sept. 30 with the Melissa Aldana Quartet inside the historic and beautiful Music Room in the Rosen House — and that's just the first of a full calendar of events including benefits, an American Roots Music concert in collaboration with City Winery, jazz in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center, family and holiday events.

On Oct. 16, Caramoor will host its second annual celebration of the holiday Día de los Muertos and will welcome the Calpulli Mexican Dance Company for a fun-filled afternoon of live music, dance, and stories, all capturing the colorful, passionate, inviting traditions of Latin America. RSVP to this free event on the Caramoor website.

Two concerts will benefit Caramoor's programming this fall. In addition to the Sierra Boggess "Cabaret in the Music Room" event Oct. 22, Josh Ritter will appear there Dec. 3 for an exceptional benefit concert to celebrate and support Caramoor’s programming throughout the year.

A singer/songwriter who has been compared to the likes of Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen by critics and fans alike, Ritter is known for his Americana style and narrative storytelling, and was named one of Paste magazine’s “100 Greatest Living Songwriters.” This acoustic solo performance in the Music Room is part of his tour of intimate venues where he hopes to form a deeper connection with audiences.

A special family program with Reggie Harris is set for Dec. 11. Musician, storyteller, and educator Reggie Harris will bring an uplifting concert of songs and stories about the Underground Railroad, one of the most important chapters in American history. Join us for one of two performances celebrating the quest for freedom and holiday joy, as Harris shares how the winter holidays offered a moment of hope — and a rare opportunity to escape — for enslaved people. Note: the 4 p.m. performance has been specially designed to be sensory-friendly for those who are neurodivergent, have sensory sensitivities, or just need a bit more space to enjoy the music.
