The Curtain Rises On 'The Dining Room' At John Jay High School

The drama stars 14 actors playing over 50 roles, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teen girls to Irish housemaids.

CROSS RIVER, NY — The dinner party of a lifetime won't include a plate for audience members, but the experience might just help nourish a sense of wonder and leave attendees fed with enchantment.

John Jay High School presents "The Dining Room" on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. There will also be a 1 p.m. matinee on Saturday.

Tickets will be available for $5 at the door.

The school says that the drama by A. R. Gurney will star 14 actors playing over 50 roles, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. The play has 18 scenes, all connected in some way to a fine New England dining room.
