Danbury Woman Charged With Endangering Katonah Kids, Pleasantville Man Charged With DWI in Katonah

Melissa Dawson, 35, of Danbury, CT, was arrested by Bedford Police on Bedford Road in Armonk and charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Dawson, who is estranged from her husband, a Katonah resident, allegedly dropped off their three children, ages 8, 10 and 13, at their grandmother's on July 31. The grandmother, also a Katonah resident, was not home at the time Dawson dropped them off, at approximately 1:30 a.m.

The 13 year-old had to break into the house and phoned 911, according to police. After their investigation, police got a warrant for Dawson's arrest. On Aug. 12, she was picked up by North Castle police; shortly thereafter, Bedford police picked her up at Amore Pizza in Armonk where she is employed.

She was arraigned and released without bail pending a court appearance in Bedford.

Pleasantville man charged with felony DWI

Domenic Marcella, a 45-year-old Pleasantville resident, was arrested on Aug. 13 after he was allegedly seen stumbling down Katonah Avenue and operating a car while intoxicated, according to police.

A Bedford police officer on patrol said he observed Marcella weaving and walking on the sidewalk in Katonah just after midnight on Aug. 13. After the officer turned his car around, he no longer saw him walking but saw a car start up and drive through a stop sign. After stopping the car, the officer ran Marcella's license through the computer which revealed he had a prior DWI conviction and a suspended license.

Marcella was taken to the hospital for observation, where he was reportedly uncooperative. He was brought back to town for an arraignment with Judge Jacobsen, who remanded Marcella to the county jail without bail.

Marcella was charged with felony DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation/driving under the influence, refusal of pre-screen test, failure to stop at a stop sign and making an unsafe lane change. He returns to town court on Aug.18.

Mt. Kisco youth charged with DWI in Bedford

A 19-year-old year-old male from Mt. Kisco was arrested on Aug. 14 and charged with DWI over .08 BAC and violating a no passing zone. 

After striking a guard rail with his car on Route 121 near Upper Hook Road at approximately 4 a.m., the young man was found by Bedford police, who released him to his parents pending a return to town court.
