NORTH SALEM, NY — An early morning burglary in Westchester might have stemmed from a financial dispute between a former employee and his employer.

New York State Police say that on Saturday, troopers from Somers responded to a property on Hardscrabble Road, in the town of North Salem, after receiving a report of a burglary.

State police say the incident, which took place during the early morning hours, involved the theft of building materials from a storage building on the property.

After an investigation by troopers and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, 42-year-old Anthony S. Pappalardo, of South Salem, was identified as the suspect.

The investigation found that the stolen materials were taken from the property and sold to a scrap yard. Police said that Pappalardo was also connected to a similar theft last month, believed to be part of an ongoing financial dispute with his former employer.
