Emergency Kitchawan Road Closure Will Affect Lewisboro Drivers
There will be no through traffic during both daylight and nighttime hours from Rte 123 to Grandview Road starting next week.

SOUTH SALEM, NY — If you have a favorite scenic route to take to the office, it might be a good idea to dust off your "plan B" before the "road closed" signs go up, starting next week.
Kitchawan Road will be closed from Aug. 22 to 26, according to Lewisboro officials. There will be no through traffic from Route 123 to Grandview Road (towards Pound Ridge). The roadway will be closed to all but local traffic at Mill River near 187 Kitchawan Rd. (coming from Rt. 123) and at Grandview Road/near 171 Kitchawan Road (coming from Pound Ridge).
No traffic at all will be able to travel between Grandview Road, near 171 Kitchawan Rd. and Mill River Road, near 187 Kitchawan Rd.

The road will not reopen at night.
The closure is for emergency underground pipe work and should take approximately three to four days. Once the pipe work is finished, there will be an area of Kitchawan Road that will have gravel which will have to settle and then it will be paved at a later date.

In an alert, Town of Lewisboro Supervisor Tony Gonçalves urged affected residents to make sure to notify any scheduled visitors, lawn maintenance, service companies and deliveries about the emergency road closure.
