Branch Out

Bedford 2020 Coalition is pleased to announce "BRANCH OUT!" a new project led by the Bedford Garden Club addressing the importance of trees to our community. This project will focus on educating our community about the protection and preservation of trees. It will also include a major effort to encourage tree planting along Bedford's residential and commercial roads.

PLEASE JOIN THE BEDFORD GARDEN CLUB ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 20TH AT 9:00 AM at Historical Hall in Bedford Village. Pick up a sapling of your own and hear Barbara Shea, the founder and President of Washington D.C.'s Casey Tree Project, speak about the D.C. tree project and how the Town of Bedford might apply the successes they achieved.

Trees are a natural means of curbing pollution, reducing storm water run-off and reducing home energy costs. Bedford 2020's Land Use Task Force is focused on working with community members to educate the public and take actions to recognize the environmental, commercial and social benefit of trees. We applaud the efforts of the Bedford Garden Club and urge everyone to attend in order to learn more and to participate in this community-wide effort.
