Family Day, With Puppets, at the Katonah Museum of Art May 16

The museum's annual Family Day will include visits with famous puppeteers and a chance to build your own puppets.

The Katonah Museum of Art will hold a Puppets! Family Day: Design, Create, Perform. on to 4 p.m. at the museum. The museum's annual Family Day is always a favorite.

This year's event will feature special guests Theo, the book-loving puppet of PBS's Between the Lions and his creator, Peter Linz. Linz will talk with three puppet artists, Ralph Lee, Martin P. Robinson, and Jim Kroupa. They will discuss their work and give a behind-the-scenes look at how puppets are made and operated.

Ralph Lee is an internationally celebrated mask maker and puppet designer. Robinson is a 30-year veteran of Sesame Street who is best known as the designer and performer of Telly Monster and Mr. Snuffleupagus. Kroupa created the whimsical characters on Eureka's Castle, Between the Lions, and It's a Big, Big World.
