A Vista home on four acres sustained major damage in a Thursday night blaze that began around 9:30 p.m. and was extinguished with the help of tankers from neighboring communities.

The fire was initially spotted by a neighbor driving by, according to fire captain, Jeff Peck. No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

Because there were no hydrants on the wooded property, water transported by tanker was used to put out the fire.

Firefighters had the fire, which caused extensive damage throughout the home, under control at approximately 10:30 pm.

The exact cause is still under investigation.
