Fox Lane Doubles Students Selected for NYSSMA Area All-States

28 Fox Lane student musicians were selected to perform at the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Area All-State Festival with students from across Westchester County earlier this month.

Students were selected based on outstanding ratings from the NYSSMA Solo Festival in the spring of 2024. The NYSSMA Area All-State Festival is a prestigious event showcasing the region's top musical talents.

“This year, 28 Fox Lane High School students performed at the Area All-State Zone 11 NYSSMA festival, nearly doubling the number from 2023,” said Director of Orchestras Janine Bergamini. “Among those accepted, we had several students selected for principal seats and featured as soloists. This student success exhibits the strength and potential of our music department.”

The selected students represented performing ensembles at Fox Lane High School: the Symphonic Band, directed by Dr. Sarah Matthews; the Chamber Choir, directed by Kevin Larsen; and the Concert and Chamber Orchestra, directed by Janine Bergamini.
