A Cross River mother and son reflect on how their world view has changed in the past 10 years.
Joseph LaSorsa was 3-years-old on the day the World Trade Center was attacked 10 years ago. It was his first day of preschool.
He is part of a generation of kids who have never known a world without school lockdowns, taking off shoes in airports and color-coded security alerts.
Though not fully aware of the events on the day itself, by age 13, Joseph is aware of the global political landscape—perhaps more than generations before were at that age—and was particularly affected by the death of Osama bin Laden.
