Polly Cooper Chapter Remembers Veterans on National Wreaths Across America Day 2025
The Daughters of the American Revolution chapter sponsored and laid remembrance wreaths on graves at historic Bedford, New York cemeteries
Polly Cooper Chapter, NSDAR participated in Wreaths Across America Day, December 13, 2025, at the Old Burying Ground and Bedford Union cemeteries in Bedford, New York. Wreaths Across America Day is an annual event held in December, where volunteers lay wreaths at gravesites, say each Veteran’s name out loud, and remember and appreciate the sacrifices of that Veteran and their family to protect and preserve our nation's freedoms. The Chapter is grateful for all the wreath sponsors, volunteers from other organizations, including local Veterans, who helped ensure that every Veteran in the cemeteries was honored.
At the Old Burying Grounds in the historic Bedford Village, all nineteen veterans laid to rest there served in the American Revolution. This is especially meaningful for DAR members, each of whom is descended from an ancestor who served in or aided the cause of American Independence.
