4. Katonah Museum is open

Pools are still not open because of storm damage and power outages, and some may have tired of board games at home. The Katonah Museum of Art received power yesterday and is open for those looking for recreation.

5. The Red Cross Responds to Hurricane Irene in the Lower Hudson Valley

As a result of evacuations and flooding caused by Hurricane Irene, the American Red Cross Greater New York Region has been assisting displaced residents across the Lower Hudson Valley. Red Cross disaster assessment activities are being conducted in all hurricane-affected areas to determine how the Red Cross can help people in the days and weeks to come.

The Red Cross’ Lower Hudson Valley relief operation is only one component of the American Red Cross’s National response to the storm. From North Carolina to New England, hundreds of thousands on the East Coast have been evacuated from their homes and have turned to the Red Cross for help.

The Red Cross urges residents affected by flooding and power outages in the region to review the following safety tips:
