Proposed $161M Bedford CSD School Budget On The Ballot May 20

Also on the ballot are seven candidates vying for four seats on the Board of Education.

BEDFORD, NY — The 2025 budget and school board vote is May 20, and four seats are up for election on the school district board.

The proposed spending plan of $160,905,500 is 3.26 percent higher than the current budget.

The tax levy is expected to be increased 2.99 percent.

"As one BCSD community, my goal throughout the budget development process has been to provide the programs and resources necessary to help each student and each school to do their best work in pursuit of our district's mission," Superintendent Robert Glass said. "I wholeheartedly believe this budget serves the children and families of our community well, while supporting fiscal responsibility in both the short and longer term."

Four school board seats are up for election. The three candidates with the highest number of votes will be elected to three-year terms. The candidate with the fourth-highest number of votes will serve a one-year-plus term, due to a board member's resignation.

The candidates running are: Eric Florio, Gillian Klein (incumbent), Prasad Krishnan, Blakeley Lowry (incumbent), Robert Mazurek (incumbent), Amal Shady (incumbent), and Leo Sposato.
