Release: District Completes Move to Increase Miller
The K-L School District today announced the completion of their move from South Salem to Goldens Bridge.

As announced during the 2010-2011 school year, the Katonah-Lewisboro School District administration and Board of Education decided to relocate the District Office from 1 Shady Lane in South Salem to Increase Miller Elementary School, 186 Waccabuc Road in Goldens Bridge. The move was planned to take place over this summer as not to disrupt school activity, and has recently been completed according to schedule.
The District Office is now accessible to administrators and visitors through a separate entrance located on the left side of the building, as signs outside the school will indicate. Unused classrooms were converted to office space to accommodate the District Office personnel and enable them to work together more closely and efficiently without the division presented by the Shady Lane offices, which were actually three separate structures.
The change not only creates a more convenient working environment; it also provides the community, teachers, and support staff with easier access to the District Office. The administration and Board of Education had been exploring various options for relocating the District Office for several years, and selected Increase Miller Elementary School due to its centralized location and ample amount of space. As another benefit, the District anticipates an annual savings of over $50,000 in electricity, fuel, facility maintenance, and in excess of $200,000 savings in reduced personnel costs associated with operating a separate buildings.
“The relocation brings positive changes for our District staff as well as parents and other members of the community,” stated Assistant Superintendent for Business Mr. Michael Jumper. “We are pleased to have made a move that will save the District in costs, while providing convenience and a more effective workspace.”
