Highway Re-Opened After School Bus Fire on I-684

Update, 10:30 a.m.

Traffic has been re-opened on I-684 Southbound, state police say. There were no injuries from the bus fire and the bus has been towed from the highway.

State police officers are responding to the scene of a fire on an empty school bus on I-684 southbound, authorities say.

There were no children on the bus, according to state police in Somers. Troopers are on the scene of the fire, which was reported just before 9:30 a.m. and has southbound traffic backed up while the scene is being investigated.
