THE SCHOOLHOUSE THEATER CELEBRATES 40th ANNIVERSARY SEASON
Westchester's Favorite Local Theater Brings Award-Winning Excellence to 2025 With Three Thrilling Productions

The Schoolhouse Theater proudly launches its landmark 40th Anniversary Season with an electrifying lineup of plays that celebrate the theater’s legacy of artistic excellence. Following a triumphant year that saw the Schoolhouse honored with seven 2024 BroadwayWorld Awards—including Westchester’s Favorite Local Theater for the second year in a row—this milestone season promises drama, passion, and laughter in equal measure. The season will feature Satchmo at the Waldorf, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, and Jeeves and Wooster in 'Perfect Nonsense.'
Satchmo at the Waldorf
The Schoolhouse Theater’s 40th season kicks off with Satchmo at the Waldorf, a sensational one-man play about the legendary Louis Armstrong. Written by Terry Teachout and directed by Schoolhouse’s beloved Producing Director Bram Lewis— making his directorial return to the theater for the first time in five years—this riveting production delves into the highs and lows of Armstrong’s groundbreaking career and personal struggles.
“Bringing Satchmo at the Waldorf to life at The Schoolhouse is an absolute thrill,” says Lewis. “It’s a deeply moving and dynamic piece, offering a window into the soul of one of America’s greatest musical icons. I couldn’t think of a better way to kick off our 40th season!”

Les Liaisons Dangereuses
Following Satchmo at the Waldorf is Christopher Hampton’s Les Liaisons Dangereuses, a gripping adaptation of Choderlos de Laclos’ scandalous novel about seduction, power, and betrayal. Directed by Artistic Director Owen Thompson, this mesmerizing classic brings a world of intrigue and manipulation to the Schoolhouse stage.
“Few works capture the dangerous dance between desire and manipulation as exquisitely as this one,” says Thompson. “It is an intoxicating, razor-sharp play, and I can’t wait to bring it to life with our phenomenal cast and design team.”

Adding to the excitement, Producing Director Bram Lewis remarks, “The response to our work in 2024 has been overwhelming. To be recognized with seven BroadwayWorld Awards is an incredible honor, and we are thrilled to carry that momentum into 2025 with this daring and sophisticated masterpiece!”
Jeeves and Wooster in 'Perfect Nonsense'
Closing out this landmark season is Jeeves and Wooster in 'Perfect Nonsense', a delightfully madcap comedy by the Goodale Brothers, based on the beloved stories of P.G. Wodehouse. Directed by Owen Thompson, this Olivier Award-winning adaptation promises an evening of side-splitting hilarity, mistaken identities, and classic British wit.
“After the dark elegance of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, we’re thrilled to bring audiences something completely different—pure, unfiltered joy,” says Thompson. “Wodehouse’s world of wit and whimsy is a perfect fit for the Schoolhouse stage!”
Producing Director Bram Lewis adds, “The response to our recent work has been phenomenal, and we’re excited to show the range of what we can do. This production is a love letter to classic British farce, and we can’t wait to share the laughter with our audiences!”
