State police responded to a second call on Mar. 27, this one around 7:30 p.m. According to police records, several witnesses reported a car to be driving erratically on an I-684 north bound lane. Witnesses also said the car, driven by Cross River resident Colin P. Calhoun, 44, struck a guard rail, causing the air bags to deploy. Calhoun reportedly did not stop driving the car until he reached Route 22, where he left the car, and ran into the woods near exit 6A off I-684. A state police K-9 unit eventually tracked him down deep into the woods. Calhoun refused to take any chemical tests but the police determined he was "highly intoxicated." He was arraigned in Somers Town Court, and taken to the Westchester County Jail pending an appearance this week in Lewisboro Town Court.
