Summer Camp-Out, 9/11 Anniversary, Reading Game Parties

It's 5 things you need to know Tuesday.

1.   9/11 Commemorations

The 10th Anniversary of September 11th is about a month away. Several organizations are already making plans to commemorate one of the most tragic days in our nation’s history. Westchester County announced this week that it will hold its annual ceremony at twilight at the Kensico Dam Plaza. The event will take place at 6 p.m. so that people can attend other commemoration events earlier in the day. And of course, we'll bring you the list of local events in Bedford, including the Katonah road race and the Bedford firefighter rememberance ceremony.

5. Sneak some zucchini onto your neighbors' porch

According to Holiday Insights, Aug. 8 was National Zucchini Day or "Sneak Some Zucchini onto Your Neighbors' Porch Day." Because the zucchini is one of the most prolific plants in all of the gardening world, and a single plant produces a seemingly endless supply of zucchini, the holiday suggests a method for you to give some away. You can also try cooking it up and giving away in a baked good or a soup. Try these recipes here, posted on
