Troop 154 Gears Up for Northern Tier with Exciting Shakeout

Scouts portage canoes, zip line over fall foliage, and cook steaks in action-packed prep for next summer's boundary waters adventure

This past weekend, Boy Scout Troop 154 embarked on their first shakeout expedition at Camp Winnebago Scout Reservation in New Jersey, preparing for their upcoming Northern Tier High Adventure next summer in the Boundary Waters in Ontario Canada.

The day kicked off with a true test of strength and teamwork as the scouts portaged canoes from the camp to the nearby reservoir. This grueling task mimicked the challenges they'll face in the boundary waters of Northern Tier. Once on the water, the troop spent hours honing their paddling skills and building endurance.

As the sun began its descent, the scouts were treated to an unexpected thrill. They took turns on a fast zip line stretching across the camp's pond, offering breathtaking views of the sunset and the vibrant fall foliage painting the landscape.
