Troopers Find Hallucinogenic Mushrooms After Traffic Stop On I-684 : NYSP

The Bronx driver was charged with a felony, two misdemeanors, and a violation, and is scheduled to appear in court on June 16.

TOWN OF LEWISBORO, NY — A traffic stop on a Hudson Valley highway led to the discovery of a stash of hallucinogenic mushrooms and pot, according to state troopers.

New York State Police say that on Thursday, around 9 p.m., troopers assigned to a multi-agency proactive patrol detail stopped the vehicle traveling north on I-684, in the Town of Lewisboro, for traffic violations.

The driver and only person in the vehicle was identified as 43-year-old Christopher T. Vinson, of the Bronx.

After the driver gave consent, a vehicle search found an estimated 137.6 grams of mushrooms, 10.5 ounces of cannabis, and other drug paraphernalia.

Vinson was arrested and charged by Somers BCI investigators with felony second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two misdemeanor counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful possession of cannabis (more than 3 ounces or 24 grams).

He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Lewisboro Court on June 16.
