Why go: There will be up to 80 antiques dealers offering art, silver, jewelry and other antiques and collectibles. Plus, a plant sale will be hosted by the Friends of Lasdon. You can get an appraisal on any of your own items you bring for $5. Plus, live music with singer Gary Dillon, and snacks like kettle corn.
Price: $7, (12 and under free), to benefit the Glass House Fund at Lasdon. $5 per verbal appraisal by William J. Jenack Appraisers & Auctioneers.

Where/When: John "Jack" De Vito Gazebo on Veterans Road, Yorktown Heights; Sunday, September 4, 6 p.m.
Why go: This is your last chance of the season to pack a picnic basket, grab a blanket, and bring the family out for a concert at the gazebo. The season finale performance will be a tribute to music icon, Rod Stewart. Sing along to classics such as Maggie Mae, Rhythm of My Heart, and Have I Told You Lately. Should there be rain, the concert will be relocated to the Yorktown Stage. This summer concert series is brought to you by the Yorktown Lion's Club and the Yorktown Parks & Recreation Department.

Collaborative Concepts Farm Projects 2011
Where and When: Saunders Farm, Garrison; Saturday, September 3, 1pm-6pm
Why go: "Cow-proof" Art? Find out what it is at this outdoor opening reception for the 6th Annual Collaborative Concepts artists which will be held at Saunders Farm this Saturday. Art enthusiasts are invited to come and stroll amongst the farm’s grounds, which besides being made into a temporary art gallery is also home to a number of Black Angus cattle. The project features over 60 pieces of original visual art, such as assemblage pieces and sculptures, which will be displayed throughout the 140 acre farm. There will also be live music and performance art throughout the day. A rain date for this event is scheduled for Sunday, September 4. For those unable to make the opening reception, there will be a mid-run reception Saturday, October 1, and the exhibit will run daily from 10am til dusk through October 30.

Contestants show off their beauty and personalities with hopes to win the 2011 competition for Miss Westchester, Miss Westchester Teen, Miss Hudson Valley, and Miss Hudson Valley Teen
Where and When: , White Plains; Saturday, September 3, 6pm
Why go: Lovely ladies from across Westchester and the Hudson Valley Region will be competing for the titles of, “Miss Westchester,” and “Miss Hudson Valley,” in these pageants. The evening of events will begin at 8pm with the teen portion of the competition; followed by the second round of competitions at 8pm. Contestants will be judged in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown, and personal interview. The winners of these competitions will move on to compete in a state-wide pageant for the titles of Miss New York USA and Miss New York Teen USA 2012, which will be taking place in January.

Movies for Kids (and their Families): The Jacob Burns Center presents, “Jurassic Park”
Where and When: , Pleasantville; Saturday, September 3, noon & Sunday, September 4, noon
Why go: This weekend the theatre will be holding two noon showings of the 1993 family favorite, “Jurassic Park.” One of the decade’s most popular movies, this famous Spielberg flick brings dinosaurs back to live on the big screen and is sure to be a hit with adventure loving sci-fi fans of all ages.

Where and When: Trophy Point Amphitheatre at West Point Military Academy, West Point; Sunday, September 4, 6pm
Why go: The West Point Concert Band brings the 2011 “Music Under the Stars” series to a close with a performance to remember. The band will play popular classical selections such as Fucik's "Entry of the Gladiators," and will also entertain concert goers of all ages with music from the Harry Potter films. The bands finale will feature a performance of the “1812 Overture” and a fireworks display. Should there be rain the event will be postponed until September 5. Attendees are asked to please bring photo ID arrive early for full car inspections.

Renaissance Faire: Travel back in time to 16th century England for fun, food and fairies
Where and When: Sterling Forest State Park, Tuxedo; Saturday, September 3 & Sunday, September 4, 10am-7pm
Why go: Relive the times of Elizabethan England with the excitement of 16th century games, rides, arts, crafts, food, music and dance. Enjoy events such as jousting competitions and archery shows while you chomp on the largest turkey legs you’ll ever eat. At the fair you can also catch a comedy show, observe real working metal smiths and frolic with a few fairies. Attendants are encouraged to come to the fair dressed in character.
