Westchester County Mom Goes 'Above And Beyond' For All

BEDFORD-KATONAH, NY— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

Love is what makes my mom extra special. She loves her family and friends so much and she finds ways to brighten their days either by dropping off food, gift baskets, chocolates or her Irish soda bread. She gives them advice or treats them to lunch or dinner. She is a dedicated doctor that goes on house calls helping her friends & family as gratis. She just loves spreading kindness wherever she goes.

Why do you feel your mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom served as a volunteer doctor for 8 weeks after 9-11 at St. Paul’s Chapel near Ground Zero in New York City. After her experiences there, she founded Heavenly Productions Foundation. She, along with her charity, has delivered over 16,300 backpacks and school supplies for children in need over the last 12 years. Her charity has delivered over 2,500 hand-stuffed teddy bears for sick kids and kids with cancer in New York, Florida, Connecticut and Pennsylvania hospitals. They were even sent to Ghana, Africa, and to an orphanage in Haiti.

She is always going above and beyond the call of duty and volunteering to help others and showing how much she deeply cares for people.
