Westchester Has A New Michelin Star-Winning Restaurant For 2024

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Westchester restaurants are earning an international reputation and the Michelin Guide has just awarded a star to a new restaurant in Westchester.

13 new restaurants in the New York area received new stars this year, including La Bastide by Andrea Calstier, in North Salem, the prestigious guide announced at a ceremony Monday night.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Tarrytown maintained its two stars, in addition to its green star.

"New York is home to some of the most diverse (and delicious) restaurants in the world," the announcement said. "And the over 400 MICHELIN Guide restaurants in its selection is proof of that."

Here's what the Michelin Guide inspectors wrote about the newest Michelin-starred restaurant in Westchester:

La Bastide by Andrea Calstier

"Head to this modern farmhouse in Westchester where a soothing design perfectly complements sweeping views of the pastoral landscape. Husband and wife duo Chef Andrea Calstier and General Manager Elena Oliver are at ease in their intimate dining room, a space fit with only a few tables and perfectly calibrated for the tasting to come. The menu draws on their upbringing in the south of France. A simple-sounding salad is so much more with grilled gem lettuce paired with poached celtuce, cured egg yolk, and an olive oil sabayon. Squab with rosemary and fig leaf is as accomplished as grilled black sea bass with artichokes and razor clams. Dessert is a particular strength, and the combination of chocolate with goat cheese is a thrilling finale."
