Westchester Oratorio Society Resumes 'Open' Rehearsals In Katonah
Rehearsals at the library in September are open to spectators and potential new singers are also invited to attend.

KATONAH, NY — The Westchester Oratorio Society has unveiled plans for its 26th season and issued a call for singers.
The Westchester Oratorio Society's artistic director, Benjamin Niemczyk, will open the season with rehearsals starting on Sept. 12 for the group’s fall concert featuring Bach: Cantata, BWV 706; Händel: Te Deum, HWV 280; Bach: Cantata, BWV 140 and Fauré: Cantique de Jean Racine, Op. 11.
The concert will be on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the South Salem Presbyterian Church (with a full dress rehearsal the evening of Nov. 17). The chorus will be accompanied by professional soloists and the WOS Baroque Orchestra.

"We greatly appreciated all of enthusiastic comments we received throughout our 25th Anniversary Season for our Sock Hop fundraiser, and our two concerts," the Westchester Oratorio Society board said, announcing the plans for the new season. "We realize that none of this would be possible without the support of our loyal audience and dollars. There are various various ways to donate outlined on our website which you can access with the buttons to the left."
The concert is made possible with the support of the Westchester Community Foundation, a Division of the New York Community Trust.

Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Garden Room of the Katonah Village Library, located at 26 Bedford Rd., a short walk from the Metro-North train station.
