2 Motorcyclists Die In 2 Nassau Crashes In 1 Hour Sunday: PD
A man, 53, and a 17-year-old both died in separate motorcycle crashes, police say.
NASSAU COUNTY, NY — Two motorcyclists died in two crashes within a single hour in Nassau County Sunday, police said.
According to Nassau County police, the first crash took place at 1:30 p.m. in Uniondale. A 17-year-old male was driving a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle west on Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in the vicinity of the Cradle of Aviation Museum when he struck a curb and was ejected from his motorcycle, police said.
He suffered major injuries as a result of the crash and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased by a hospital physician, police said.

No other injuries were reported.
Next, the Nassau County homicide squad reported that a crash took place at 2 p.m. in North Bellmore. According to detectives, an 18-year-old male was operating a 2019 white Volkswagen northbound on Bellmore Avenue, with an 18-year-old female passenger. He was making a U-turn at Garfield Street, when a 2002 yellow Suzuki motorcycle being operated by a 53-year-old man struck its rear left quarter panel, police said.

The 53-year-old man suffered serious trauma injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene; police said. The driver of the Volkswagen remained at the scene; no other injuries were reported, and no charges were filed, police said.
The investigation is ongoing, police said.
