$700 in Fraudulent Purchases Made At 2 Walgreens Stores: Police

NORTH BELLMORE, NY — A Queens man was placed in custody after making fraudulent purchases at a North Bellmore store.

Elijah Eugene, 27, used a female victim's credit card through a cell phone application, police said.

Officers were notified that Eugene, who returned to the Walgreens on Newbridge Road on Sunday, had made more than $250 in fraudulent purchases the prior day, police said.

Eugene was arrested without incident. During the investigation, it was determined that he also used the same victim's credit card to buy $459 worth of items from a Walgreens on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow, police said.

He is charged with fourth-degree grand larceny, two counts of third-degree identity theft, two counts of third-degree unlawful possession of personal ID, first-degree falsifying business records and four counts of petit larceny.

Eugene was expected to be arraigned on Monday.
