Barry Tech Students Collect 485 Gowns for Prom Dress Drive
The school teamed up with the organization Becca's Closet.
Nassau Boces Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Education Center (Barry Tech) fashion design students recently donated 485 dresses to girls throughout Nassau County and Queens for the upcoming prom season. The school teamed up with the organization, Becca's Closet, for its annual dress drive.
Becca’s Closet provides formal attire to high school students who are not able to afford new dresses for proms and homecomings.
The fashion design students collected the dresses and helped with the hemming and minor alterations of the gowns.
Some of the dresses were distributed to Barry Tech students and others were donated to young ladies in schools throughout Nassau County and Queens.
