Card Skimmers Found at Merrick Gas Station

Skimmers are devices used to steal financial information from anyone who swipes their card.

Multiple credit card skimmers were discovered at a Merrick gas station Thursday, according to Nassau County Police.

A technician found three skimmers attached to pumps at Gulf Gas Station, located at 2030 Sunrise Highway, cops said. The owner of the station called the tech after one of the pumps had stopped accepting credit card transactions, police said.

Police released a photo of a strap used to secure the device to the gas pump.
